The other William Morris

No, not the William Morris of Arts & Crafts Movement fame, but William Morris, Lord Nuffield of Morris Minor motor cars fame.

I don't normally blog about non stitchy things, but...bear with...there is a sewing room involved!.

On a recent trip to Surrey, we happened upon a recently acquired National Trust property just west of Henley-on-Thames - Nuffield Place. And what a little gem! A beautifully preserved house, left just as it was when Lord Nuffield died in the early 1950s. He became a very rich man indeed, but gave much of his wealth away to charitable causes.

Its is a lovely place to visit. And you could take photos!

Here are some highlights, including, of particular interest to stitchers, a delightful sewing room.

The kitchen

A bedroom

And last, but by no means least, the sewing room!
